Waterproof Casing

Waterproof Casing

Waterproof Casing is very widely used by a vast number of industries, and waterproof casing can easily be classified as any type of waterproof protecting covering, which encloses or encapsulates the desired object, to prevent the intrusion of water or other certain types of liquids.

Waterproof casing can be as simple as a plastic or polythene bag, in which the item is inserted and the bag sealed at one end, to more sophisticated types of waterproof casing such as specially constructed suitcases or camera cases, which are manufactured to high quality specifications and many of these, will offer some degree of security.

Waterproof casing is used on a wide variety of products, and these can include, keys, mobile phones, cameras, iPods and luggage. Other waterproof casing products are, suitcases, backpacks, and submersible camera protection etc, to name just a few.

Water resistant or water- proof refers to objects which are unaffected by water or resisting water, or which are covered with a material that does not allow water or resists water entry.

Such items or objects may be used in wet environments or underwater. Some modern items may be water-proofed by applying water repellent coatings or sealed with O-rings or gaskets.

Some fabrics are manufactured to be water-proof which can resist water droplets and at the same time allow water vapour through. This type of fabric is known as breathable fabric. The fabric has the ability to block out rain and snow and allow sweat to evaporate through the underside of the material.

Water-proof casing refers to any type of water-proofing, and the methods for achieving this are vast. Some of them can include:

• Water-proof sprays & coatings

• Water-proof fabrics & membranes

• Plastic casings

Many types of materials and items have been adapted to be water resistant or water-proof and some of these can include:

• Building materials ;  cement, concrete etc

• Fabrics; raincoats, camping equipment, bags etc.

• Transport equipment; boxes, crates, suit cases etc.

• Ship & sailboat equipment;  hulls, portholes etc

• Water containment; water tanks, plastic containers etc.

Water-proof casings cover an enormous range of products due to the wide range of water-proofing applications available.
