Alkaline water machines are used for purifying water. There are however, four types of alkaline water machines namely Distillers, Reverse Osmosis Filters, Activated Carbon Water Filters and Alkaline Water Ionizers. All of them function differently according to their features. Amongst them, water ionizing machines have become a popular electrical appliance that is used for the purification of water.
Some of the useful features of using an alkaline water machine as a household appliance are as follows: Alkaline or ionized water has many anti-oxidant properties attached to it that prevents body from being prone to several deadly diseases. It also acts as a detoxifier, which means that all the harmful toxins are flushed out of the body, while increasing the body’s metabolism. Alkaline water ionizers provide enough oxygen to the body cells, which in turn helps in cell replication process. Human body’s pH balance is a vital element that should be maintained. By drinking ionized water pH balance of the body is maintained to a great extent. Another most important advantage of drinking ionized water is that it keeps the body cells hydrated, thereby preventing harmful toxins getting accumulated in our body.
An alkaline water machine functions on the basic fundamental principle of Electrolysis or ionization. The ions present in the original form of water break into acidic and basic fractions and undergo the process of electrolysis to form crystal clear fresh drinking water. Unlike distilled water, ionized alkaline water is rich in essential minerals required by the body. Therefore, it is known for its energy giving and metabolizing properties.
Types of Alkaline water filters and their Usage
Distillers: distillation is the process of removing impurities from water by boiling it. The distilled water is then put into a bottle, while leaving all the impurities behind.
Reverse Osmosis Filters: The process of reverse osmosis takes place when large molecules and ions of water are treated under pressure. In this process of water purification, the solute particles remain behind, while the clean and fresh water is passed to the other side of the filter. More commonly these filters are called as RO Water Systems.
Activated Carbon Water Filters: These type of filters use activated charcoal or carbon to purify water. Carbon is porous in nature and therefore acts as an excellent source to absorb and remove harmful impurities from water, while making it drinkable.
Alkaline Water Machines (Ionizers): ionizing or electrolyzing water is done by breaking the original molecular structure of water into acidic and basic ionic fractions. By doing so, water gets transformed from its original state to an ionized one. Although, drinking ionized water has raised many questions for its harmful effects, it is a marvelous anti-oxidant that has anti-aging and disease fighting properties.
